In Loving Memory of Vingie R. Ward
1935 – 2025
Vingie Rivers Ward of Doaktown, New Brunswick, passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on July 4, 2025, at the age of 89.
Born in Doaktown, New Brunswick, on August 21, 1935, he was the son of the late David and Grace (Brown) Ward. Vingie worked as a Power Engineer for 28 years. He attended Doaktown Abundant Life Pentecostal Church.
Vingie is survived by his wife of 70 years, Eva Mae (Amos) Ward; two daughters, Katherine Ward, and Valerie Ward; three sons, Michael Ward (Theresa), Robert Ward (Julia), and Ivan Ward (Sherry); as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, David A. Ward Jr.; adopted brother, William (Ward) Parker; and special nephew, Donald E. Ward.
Visitation was held at Doaktown Abundant Life Pentecostal Church, 583 Main Street, Doaktown, New Brunswick, on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and funeral service followed at 2:00 p.m., from the church with The Reverend Ron Carroll officiating. Music for the service was provided by Becky O'Donnell, and the songs were "Far Side Banks of Jordan" sung by Everett Munn, Darcy Munn, and Derek Munn, "Amazing Grace" sung by Becky O'Donnell, and "I Won't Have to Cross Jordan Alone" sung by Reverend Ron Carroll.
The Honorary Pallbearers were Everett Munn, Tommy Connors, Jerry Clark, Billy Stewart, Arnold Amos, and Wade Price. The Active Pallbearers were Jason Stewart, Derek Munn, Darcy Munn, Trevor Price, Brandon Ward, and Derek Lyons. Interment was in Doaktown Abundant Life Pentecostal Cemetery, New Brunswick.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Doaktown Abundant Life Pentecostal Church Building Fund (doaktownabundantlife@gmail.com) or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
