William “Bill” Joseph Duplessis, husband of Lucy (Walker) Duplessis of Glenwood, New Brunswick, passed away at Percy’s Place, Miramichi, on Saturday, October 21st, 2023, at the age of 84.

Born in Baie Sainte Anne, New Brunswick, on November 2nd, 1938, Bill was the son of both the late Alexander and Eva (Manuel) Duplessis.

Bill was a Welder Mechanic for Midland Universal for many years. He had a gregarious, outgoing and jovial personality and was full of fun. Bill was also very musical, and could play the mandolin, guitar, and upright bass, often attending music jams with friends. He was a handy-man who was very creative. Bill was also outdoorsy and drove a motorcycle for many years. He was also an avid curler. He will be fondly remembered for the loving person he was.

Bill is survived by his wife, Lucy; daughters: Marie Hoenow, Tina Duplessis, Susan Papageorgiou, Shelley Pitts, and Krista Christensen; son, Steen Christensen; sisters: Emma MacDonald, Louisa Mersereau (David), and Theresa Harris; brothers: Norman Duplessis, and Emile Duplessis (Carol); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Bill is predeceased by his son, Cory Duplessis; sister, Giselle Duce; and brother, Isreal Duplessis.

Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Thursday, October 26th, 2023, from 2:00 PM-3:45 PM. A Legion service occurred prior to the visitation.
