Wilma Veronica Manderson, R.N., wife of the late Roland Manderson passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born in Blackville, New Brunswick, on October 13, 1948, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna (Burke) Colford. Wilma was a Registered Nurse for many years. She loved the outdoors, walking, and riding her bike with her husband, Roland. Gardening was a true passion of hers, along with knitting and cooking. She was an excellent seamstress, and exceptional nurse to all her patients, and took care of her family.
Wilma’s care extended far beyond nursing. She was a constant source of support to friends and family, always putting others first. Wilma left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Wilma is survived by her daughter, Deborah Gallan (Daniel) of Quispamsis, New Brunswick; her son, Daryl Manderson (Tanya Murphy) of Miramichi, New Brunswick; four grandchildren: Danielle (Julien), Samantha, Sarah, and Aidan; two sisters: Louise Kane (Ralph) of Miramichi, New Brunswick, and Virginia Arbeau of White Rapids, New Brunswick; two brothers: Darrel Colford, and Nicholas Colford (Sharon), both of Miramichi, New Brunswick; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Roland Manderson, and brother, Kevin Colford.
Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, New Brunswick, on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 2-4 PM. The funeral service followed at 4 PM at Adams Funeral Home Chapel, with The Reverend Father John Fraser officiating. Music for the service was recorded music and the songs were "I'll See You In My Dreams" by Bruce Springsteen, "Precious Memories" by Alan Jackson and "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver. The eulogy was written by Deborah and Daryl and was read by Tracy Kelly.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi SPCA or the John T. McMillan Jr. Memorial Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
