1947 – 2024
Winfield William Murdock of Black River Bridge, New Brunswick, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on December 30, 2024, at the age of 77.
Born in Chatham, New Brunswick, on November 30, 1947, he was the son of the late Cecil and Jean (McGraw) Murdock. He was a Carpenter by trade but also worked farming and fishing.
Winfield is survived by his wife, Eva (Lee) Murdock; three sons: Stacy (Jodi) of Miramichi, NB, Billy (Chrissy) of Miramichi, NB, and Toby of Black River Bridge, NB; six grandchildren: Rebecca, Jacob, Navie, Julian, Merissa, and Jonathan; several great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Win had a very special daughter, Tammy, who was like a daughter he never had. He also had a very special friend, Trish, from day one. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters: Marie and Mildred, as well as brothers: Bryden, Leonard, and Ray.
Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi, NB, on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 1-4 PM. Funeral service was held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel, 140 King St., Miramichi, NB, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 11 AM, with The Reverend Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating. Music for the service was "Stroll Over Heaven With You" by Allan Jackson, "Too Old To Die Young" and " Don't Let The Old Man In" by good friend Ron Forbes and the recessional song was "How Do I Say Goodbye" by Dean Lewis. Scripture reading was read by Trish Chambers and a poem "God Saw You Getting Tired" was read Debbie Jardine, a poem "Uncle Win Poem" was read by Heather MacLean and a poem "Gone But Not Forgotten" was read by Lillian MacLean. The eulogy was presented by Dick McDougall.
The honorary pallbearers were Brian Bowes, David Bremner, Randy Jardine, Raymond Bechard, Dick McDougall and Ron Forbes. Interment will be in Black River Community Cemetery, NB, later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
