Adams Funeral Home Ltd., located at 140 King Street, in the City of Miramichi (formerly Chatham), has been operating at the same location since its inception in 1956. The founder, and original owner, E. Davis Adams, moved to this area from his hometown of Hartland, N.B. and was a third generation funeral director, having worked with both his father and grandfather, in the Carleton County area of the Province.

Perhaps the most outstanding event involving the funeral home and the communities surrounding it was the Escuminac Fishing Disaster of 1959, in which thirty-three victims were lost at sea, of which thirty-one were recovered over a period of months. This time of horrible loss was the foundation on which the reputation of Adams Funeral Home was built through the dedication and service afforded the grieving families, which is not forgotten to this present day. To mark this sad time in the history of Bay du Vin, Hardwicke and Baie St. Anne, a monument, sculpted by artist Claude Roussel, sits at the wharf in Escuminac, as a tribute to the fishermen who lost their lives.

Adams Funeral Home was purchased by Douglas Jardine and his wife Blyn, in 1994. Doug is a graduate of Kingstec Funeral Service Program and grew up in the close by community of Napan, and is personally familiar with families they currently serve, either through church, community involvement, as well as social connections.

Having the addition of Mr. Keith Carter, also a graduate of the Kingstec Funeral Service program and having decades of experience as a funeral director and embalmer makes us proud to be in a position to handle all your families funeral needs in the most professional and dedicated manner.   In addition, we are proud to announce the addition of our daughter, Mrs. Kelsey McLenaghan-Chhuom.  Kelsey brings to the team years of complimentary experience as a registered health care professional.   Kelsey is a major award winning graduate from the Kingstec Funeral Services Program.

She is the 2019 Recipient of:
· The Governor General Academic Medal
· The New Brunswick Board for Registration of Embalmers and Funeral Directors and the New Brunswick Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association Award
· The Women in Funeral Service Award

We, at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., are grateful and proud to have been given the opportunity to assist you and your family at a time of loss.
