My most sincere condolences to Norms' family and friends.
I met Norm several times in the past 20 years... most times via ham radio.
He was always the perfect gentleman, compatriot, and friend.

The last time I talked to him was when I was working in northern Ontario. I was playing around with the frequency dial on my radio. I called for any station in New Brunswick (I was homesick okay). I didn't hear anyone so I spun the dial to a different frequency. For some reason, I went back to the previous setting, and there was Norm calling me. We chatted for perhaps half an hour.

He filled me in on all our ham buddies. He filled me in on lobster catches and prices. He relayed all the Miramichi political scene. He even told me what he had recently at the Portage Restaurant. Absolutely everything I needed to get over my homesickness. What a wonderful contact and at the perfect time.

I will miss this young fellow. He was a good, constant, and interesting friend.

Dearest Pat and Family
Deepest condolences to all of you. Norman will be missed, even though I had not seen him for many years, he always remained in my thoughts and prayers. He was very kind, generous and spiritual. He was a true friend to my family when we first came to Canada. He and his beautiful family welcomed us to their home. The kindness that our family still remembers and appreciates after 35 years.
You remain in our thoughts and prayers.

Much love - Ashragh Farahany

Our condolences to dear Pat, Angela, Gordy and Coralee. Indeed, a bright light has left the world. Norman's kindheartedness and dedication to helping others was truly exemplary. Norman and Pat opened their hearts and home to our family some 35 years ago and showed such love and care as rarely seen.
Long story short, we were new immigrants from the other side of the world, arriving at their door steps from another culture, race, language...none of these seemed to matter as we were considered family from day one. They were blind to all the differences and open to loving us as their own.
He was a true Baha'i, his actions taught us the most important teaching of the Faith, which is the "oneness of mankind".
This incredible gem of a man was always in our thoughts and now in our prayers also. We will dedicate a special prayer program for his glorious heavenly journey. We love you Norman and will always be a family.
Lots of love to dear Pat, the beautiful children and grand children as they go through these difficult times.

Deeply saddened by the news of our dear Norman’s passing. He was truly a wonderful human being and a very compassionate person. Indeed a Baha’i.
We have great memories in Saint John, gathering in your home, Norman showing the operation of his radio talking with strangers in far off lands, and just having great time.
Your home was a centre of a lot of activities, get-togethers, Feasts and Firesides. Our prayers are with you. We will remember Norman and your family in our upcoming devotional gathering at our home.
