Michael J. Sullivan

It is with heavy hearts the family of Michael Joseph Sullivan announce his sudden passing on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on May 24, 1970, in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of Minerva (Loggie) and Ian O'Donnell.

Michael attended Kennebecasis Valley High School; he enjoyed bowling, basketball, puzzles, and biking. He also was involved with Special Olympics.

Survived by his brothers and sisters; Gary Sullivan (Tanya) of Darlings Island, NB, Cindy Matthews (Jeff) of Quispamsis, Robert Sullivan (April) of Bloomfield, and Bev Burhoe (John) of Upham, nieces and nephews; Evan and Jodie Sullivan, Taylor & Jon Matthews, Emma and Bennett Sullivan, and Brooke and Hailey Burhoe, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to thank the care workers at CentraCare for their excellent care that they gave to Michael over the many years he spent with them.

Michael was predeceased by his father, Joseph Sullivan, grandparents: Frank and Catherine Sulllivan, Robert and Ina Loggie, Bev and Alice O'Donnell, aunt Connie (Sullivan) DeWolfe and uncle Roland Loggie.

Visitation was at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119)  on Friday. Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, Water Street, Miramichi (Loggieville), NB, on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2pm conducted by David Allan B.A. M.Div. Music for the service was provided by Mrs. Barbara Somers and the Loggieville - Black River Pastoral Choir.  The hymns were "In The Garden", "How Great Thou Art" and the recessional hymn was "Shall We Gather at the River".  A special musical selection, "The House of the Potter" was offered by Al Fraser. The lighting of the Memorial Candle was performed Tammy Moar and Shelley Stymiest.  The eulogy was presented by Jeff and Cindy Matthews and the scriptures were read by Krista Loggie.  

The honorary pallbearers were Stephen and Wendy Loggie, David Walsh, Ruth Loggie, Bill Walsh, Tony Loggie.  Active pallbearers were Gary and Robert Sullivan, Bruce Loggie, John Burhoe, Jeff and Jon Matthews.   Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Miramichi, later in the spring.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Centracare Complex Behaviour Unit or any charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated by the family.
