Born in Hardwicke, NB on June 23, 1940, he was the son of the late Allan and A. Esther (MacRae) Gregan.  He moved to Hamilton, ON at a young age and worked at Stelco Steel for many years.  His real passion was always fishing and after moving back to Hardwicke he became a fisherman.  He was a member of the Maritime Fisherman’s Union and on the Board of Director’s for Baie-Ste-Anne Co-op.  He was a member of Myers United Church and served on the Manse Committee and as an Elder in the church.

He is survived by his wife Sharon (Woodgate) Gregan; two sons: Peter Gregan and David Gregan (Jennifer) all of Hardwicke; three grandchildren: Chloe, Abby and James; two sisters: Donna Doak of Miramichi and Margaret “Peggy” Robinson (Harold) of Moncton; two brothers: Wendell Gregan of Miramichi and James “Jimmy” Gregan (Joyce) of Hardwicke; several nieces and nephews whom he was like a father to them.  He was predeceased by his parents; brother Leigh Gregan and brother-in-law Derald Doak.

Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.  Funeral service was held on Friday, November 2, 2018 from St. Stephen’s United Church, Black River Bridge at 2pm with Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating.  The music for the service was provided by Mr. David Mann and the Loggieville-Black River pastoral charge and the hymns were “Jesus, You Have Come to the Lakeshore”, “I See a New Heaven” and the recessional hymn was “Precious Lord, Take My Hand”.  Special music selections were “The Rose” and “Sonny’s Dream”.  The lighting of the Memory Candle was done by granddaughter Chloe Gregan and the scripture readings were read by brother Wendell Gregan and friend Brian Gardiner.

Honorary pallbearers were Brian Gardiner, Duncan (Bo) MacDonald, Todd Murdock, Lorne Gregan, David Chapman, Lynn Gregan and Johnny Russell.  Pallbearers were Eddy Gregan, Glenn Robinson, Chris Walsh, Wendell Doak, Bill Robinson and Teddy Williston. Interment was held in the Black River Community Cemetery.
